FAQs
What is the difference between Coaching and Counseling?
Counseling is a therapeutic service that follows a medical model. In Counseling, patients go to a therapist to heal. The therapist is the expert.
Coaching is not a medically-based service, it is positive and works with clients to move forward toward a goal. Coaches do not treat mental health conditions.
Do you take Insurance?
No, Coaching is not a medical service, and therefore it is not covered by insurance.
What do the terms Neurodiverse, Neurodivergent, and Neurotypical mean?
Neurodiverse is a word that describes the human variation of the brain or neuro types.
Neurodivergent refers to a person who has a brain type that is different from the majority. Examples are Autism and ADHD.
Neurotypical refers to a person whose brain works like those in the "majority" of neurotypes.
Do you diagnose people with Autism/ADHD?
No, I only provide Coaching and education services. Diagnosis is assessed by a medical professional.
*Clients do not need to have a diagnosis to work with me.
What is a Neurodiverse Couple?
A couple where each partner's brain works different. One or both people may have a diagnosis of Autism and/or ADHD as well as other neurologically based learning disabilities.
"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced."
